Xavier Phillips plays Dutilleaux
Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 10:36AM I saw an incredible composition executed by a virtuoso cellist last night when the Seattle Symphony performed Henri Dutilleaux's cello concerto, Tout Un Monde Lointain featuring Xavier Phillips on cello. The broadcast of last night's performance will be on KING FM (king.org) July 7th at 8:00 PM, but in the meantime here's this performance:
In true Seattle style, Phillips was dressed in just a black shirt to match the more modern maestro, Ludovic Morlot (who by the way just makes the symphony breathe together). If your idea of the symphony is this boring stuffy evening, you need to see Morlot. It's a new day in Seattle.

I honestly love watching such performance because they seem to stop time the moment they start playing.
